CV

I embrace aspects of our world – people, landscapes, surburbia, iniquity etc - both inner and outer realms. The World is my oyster. I care not for Time. The concept of Countries is antediluvian. I am an Internationalist. Any group of my photos still only catches a bit of my perception. This is an introduction to my work.

I have resided for one year or longer in eleven countries. Working, taking part in expeditions, exploring, photographing, wandering freely, and wondering with infinity. Wherever I am, and have been, whatever place I am in, there are 90 wonderful things to relish and 10 challenging things to overcome.  When one explores and scrutinises at local levels around labyrinthine and hidden corners none appears superior to another.

The World is a Beautiful place. The vast majority of people are benevolent ... we are all the same the World over. We enjoy / need the same things ... fortunately there are differences in aestheticism, arts, sciences, and lifestyles.
The pity of it is there are a lot of unintelligent idiots contributing too much to the ruination of our lives and environment. We need to act now. Actions are louder than words. Some of my favourite times have been with people whom I cannot speak with owing to language differences. We always had a wonderful time. I have, and always will, Wonder and Wander.
I enjoy all forms of Photography – Film, Digital, and all older forms of photos. I learnt Photography in the Film era. I develop and print Film photos myself in my Silver Gelatin Darkroom using Archival processes. All prints are on Ilford Galerie Paper, Selenium Toned. I use Digital Cameras, editing photos myself in my Digital Darkroom. I print on Archival Digital paper.
I expose to optimise all my negatives, positives and digital files for Printing in my Wet and Dry Darkrooms. It is crucial to obtain the most effective representation of one's idea / thought / vision on Celluloid or Disk to be able to print to your vision. The tactile nature of the print is my delight.
My professional life was in IT. I abhor AI – the term being a complete misnomer – it mimicks human intelligence at a real IQ level of less than 25. I do use my computer to create a new idea or edit a print beyond lightness/darkness adjustments. I label these prints as Digitally Manipulated (using the layers and opacity tools mostly). I only ever use photos I have taken ie my copyright.
I have been taking photos for 40 years. I have approximately 1.3 million Photographs and Film. I am a Kiwi with a British Dad and therefore lucky enough to have two passports. I have lived in or around Arundel since 2008.
My cameras - 35mm Film and 35mm Digital, Medium Format Film, and my 1886 Kodak Eastman 8½ x 6½ Inch Film Camera.

I lower the resolution on all photos in an attempt to avoid them being purloined. Each Photo also has a Watermark consisting of Copyright and Graphic throughout the photo.
I hope this has not spoiled your viewing.
